The author goes on with his self-appointed “preservationist” activities. In Schemnitz, he performed such activity for the first time in terms of his work Form Follows Function during his residential stay at BANSKA ST A NICA in 2011. In this intervention at the St. Trinity Square, he replaced the missing cobblestones with new cobblestones with their surface ground and polished so that they were shiny. With this metaphoric gesture, the author was trying to point out the renovations made in Schemnitz “for appearance’s sake”, when the buildings are only renovated from their visible side in the street and further keep on decaying from their insides. Moreover, when seen from a specific angle, the replaced, shiny cobblestones become some kind of lighting points in the street, with a metallic-like (golden) shine.
