Stag

Instructions:

The work Stag is derived from the series Conflicts that was commenting on the overlapping and mutual influences of natural and civilization systems. State-of-the-art technologies are simulating natural processes, and on the other hand, the nature is capable of adapting also to heavily industrialized conditions, etc. This was the origin of the Conflict series, creating utopic overlapping of natural and urban structures. Due to Schemnitz’s location amidst beautiful countryside of the Slovenske Stredohorie mountain range, it appears to be the perfect place for such an overlapping. Yet it remains unclear whether one of the forest inhabitants has developed into the form of a lamp, or whether the public lighting next to the forest is taking on the shape and looks of the nature. Thanks to its positioning, the artwork becomes a guardian, a totem on the borderline.
